Elizabeth Davis

Dannie Lou Bruce

Good Morning,

It is with deepest sadness that I inform you of the death of our beloved Dannie Lou Bruce, Past Grand Guardian, Virginia, (19, 52), wife of Charles (Chuck) Bruce, Past Associate Supreme Guardian and Past Associate Grand Guardian of Virginia. Dannie Lou died on the evening of October 28th with family by her side.

Our thoughts, prayers and love are with the family.

BASYE - Dannie Lou Bruce passed to her Celestial home the evening of Oct. 28, 2007, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

She was born Dannie Lou Day in Oklahoma City, Okla., on July 10, 1936, and was the daughter of John Horace and Ruby Maxine Day of Oklahoma City. Dannie Lou's health had been deteriorating for the past four years. Her family was with her at the time of her passing.

Dannie Lou was a member of Mount Hermon UMC and Faith Chapter No. 177 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She spent 35 years working with Job's Daughters International (a Masonic youth group for girls). Dannie Lou was a gracious, caring and loving wife, mother and friend, who had a positive impact on the lives of all and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Bruce of Basye; three daughters, Alice Ann Burns of Reston and husband Terry and grandchildren, Jesse, Spencer and Rosanne, Kathy Lynn Bruce of Alexandria, and Janet Lee Goolsby of Fairfax and husband Tim and grandchildren, Trisha and Thomas. She is also survived by two brothers, Ned Allen Day of Basye and Ronald Tim Day of Gilroy, Calif.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Dellinger Funeral Home in Mount Jackson. The Rev. Don Shull will preside. A reception will follow at Mount Jackson UMC in Mount Jackson.

Gerald Wayne Mustain Jr.

MUSTIAN, Gerald Wayne Jr., passed away at home November 4, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Mary Wilma F. Mustian; father, G. W. Mustian Sr. and his wife, Gloria; father-in-law, T.M. Ferebee Jr. and his wife, Jane; sisters, Melissa and Heather Mustian, and Dorothea and her husband, Kenny Benton; brother, John and his wife, Andrea Finnegan; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and faithful friends. The family will receive friends at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and where Masonic and funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday. Sylvia Norman Reynolds passed away suddenly Oct. 8, 2007. Mrs. Reynolds was born Oct. 25, 1956, to Melvin and Constance Norman in Jackson, Mich. She was a 1974 graduate of Norview High School and accepted a full scholarship to Virginia Tech. She was a bookkeeper for more than 22 years and upon her retirement, she returned to ODU to continue her education. She was active in several organizations such as the International Order of Job’s Daughters, was a Majority member and Past Bethel Guardian of Bethel No. 3 of Norfolk. She was most recently serving on the Associate Bethel Council of Bethel No. 3 and Grand 5th Messenger of Virginia, and worked tirelessly for the Relay for Life. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 27 years, James Reynolds; a daughter, Michelle Reynolds; parents, Melvin and Connie Norman of West Virginia; two sisters, Karen Piersol and husband Denny and Theresa Buffington; a brother, Mike Norman and wife Barbie; two nephews, Mike Stanley and Zachary Norman; and a niece, Danielle Piersol, all of Ohio; and numerous aunts, uncles and friends, both locally and in West Virginia and Michigan. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 11am Friday in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sylvia’s favorite charity, HIKE (Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment), c/o James Schoonmaker (please email him for a mailing address).
